Gag: He sells two jars of mustard for 6000 euros and is insulted
Faced with the shortage of this product in France, an individual jokingly passed an ad offering this condiment at a golden price. It didn’t make everyone laugh.
France is currently experiencing a shortage of mustard, supermarket shelves are almost empty. In question, the drought which affected Canada last year, the main supplier of mustard seeds for France, as well as a poor 2021 French harvest. Switzerland is much less affected by this phenomenon, using in particular a variety of seeds which was less affected by these climatic conditions.
Faced with this lack of mustard, a resident of La Calmette, near Nîmes, posted an ad on Facebook offering to sell two of his personal pots for the tidy sum of 6,000 euros, explains France Blue. Great lord, he offers a third pot, certainly smaller than the other two.
His message was a hit, with 5,500 views in 15 days. But this offer raised the mustard to the net of some who insulted him and sent him threats. When it was just a joke. He explains that he saw real ads offering half-opened pots, which gave him the idea for this gag, as he had three pots at home.
Many have understood the humor, some going one better and offering to give him their three children for the mustard pots. To hateful messages, he replies that it was a gag and that often calms people down. Because the jars of mustard, he never intended to sell them, he keeps them for himself.
