He returns to the KO of SYRIZA, “I am not a child to be deleted without information and then reinstated” he declares

The developments in SYRIZA, which announces the return of Pavlos Polakis to his Parliamentary Group, are fast-paced.

The reinstatement of Mr. Polakis in the SYRIZA Committee was made following a proposal by Stefanos Kasselakis and announced by Nikos Papas in a letter to the Speaker of the Parliament, Kostas Tasoulas.

Mr. Polakis was removed from the SYRIZA parliamentary group in July, after the discomfort he had shown over the behavior that, as he claimed, of Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis’ colleague in a parliamentary committee meeting, and also the outburst of Athena Linou.

His reinstatement takes place a few days before the Central Committee of the party and with him having publicly expressed his doubt in the person of Stefanos Kasselakis and his intention to be “present” in the developments.

Nikos Pappa’s letter

The letter to the president of the Parliament, which informs the reintegration of Pavlos Polakis into the SYRIZA KO by decision of Stefanos Kasselakis, is signed by the president of the SYRIZA KO, Nikos Pappas.

“Following a proposal by the Leader of the Official Opposition and President of SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance, Stefanos Kasselakis, the Member of Parliament of Chania, Pavlos Polakis rejoins the Parliamentary Group of SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance,” states the letter.

The rejoining of the former deputy health minister in the SYRIZA Central Committee comes a few days before the meeting of the SYRIZA Central Committee at the weekend. Mr. Polakis has directly questioned the leadership of Mr. Kasselakis, declaring himself present at the developments.

Pavlos Polakis made a statement about Stefanos Kasselakis’ decision to reinstate him in the SYRIZA Parliamentary Group.

Pavlos Polakis, clearly showing his intentions for the continuation and speaking to the journalists and while the letter of the President of SYRIZA to the Speaker of the Parliament for his reinstatement in the Parliamentary Group from which he had been deleted only on July 26 had been preceded, he stated: “As I had declared on the day of the unacceptable erasure, I was, am and will be SYRIZA. The stage was set that day, some are trying to correct the unacceptable to delete me, believing that this will be with me”.

And he continued: “The qualitative assessment I have made of the need for a dynamic opposition does not change. Everything I have said is valid, the rest we will tell the Central Committee. You are big guys, that’s clear what I’m saying. We will meet with the Central Committee in a programmatic and valuable manner.”

Sending an even clearer message to the President of SYRIZA, Pavlos Polakis concluded: “I am no child to be deleted without notice and reinstated with a notice from Nikos Pappas a few minutes before.”
