The testimony of a woman who accused American singer R Kelly of sexually exploiting her as a child shocked the audience during the trial of the famous singer, who was previously prosecuted in the “child pornography” case in 2008.
On Thursday, Jane (a pseudonym) said Kelly started having sex with her when she was 15, while he was in his thirties and continued to do so “hundreds of times”, she described, before she turned 18.
The girl, now 37, was called as a prosecution witness in Kelly’s federal trial on child pornography and obstruction of justice charges.
Known for his songwriting, composing and producing music, Kelly, whose real name is Robert Sylvester Kelly, is being tried along with his former manager, Deryl McDavid, and partner John Brown, both of whom are accused of conspiring with Kelly to intimidate, bribe witnesses and cover up evidence in his 2008 criminal trial, which included A video recording of him saying that he sexually assaulted a minor.
On Thursday, Jane revealed that she was the child in the video with Kelly, when she did not testify at the 2008 trial.
At the time, her parents repeatedly denied that she was the girl seen in the recording, so Kelly was acquitted, while he denied any wrongdoing.
Jane testified Thursday that Kelly had sex with her “hundreds of times” from the age of 15 to 18.
During her interrogation by the prosecution, she said that she did so because she was intimidated by him.
According to her account, Jen met Kelly for the first time when she was between 12 and 13 years old at a concert, to which she was invited by a relative who had an affair with the singer.
She said, “He was a star,” then continued, “I was excited to meet him, I knew who he was as an artist, and I aspired to enter the world of music.”
During her testimony, she said that he always promised her a good musical future.

Jane, who was 14 at the time, said the relationship then turned sexual within weeks of that day.
She said her parents didn’t ask regarding the relationship because they thought she and Kelly were sitting at home with each other composing music.
