The director of Moon Studios, creators of the recent No Rest for the Wicked, shared the story of the dismissal of an employee, Alexander Brazy, who held the position of “department specialist” (DEI). Brazy actively defended his views on the importance and necessity of such specialists in the gaming industry.
The catalyst for the dismissal was Brazy’s comment under the post of director of Wardog Studios, in which the “specialist” defended Sweet Baby and other criticized studios:
I think it would be great if everyone realized that effective consultants help those who don’t have the opportunity to look at their work from a professional point of view.
In response to this, Thomas Mahler stated that Brazy has no connection with Moon Studios today. He was hired for a short time, but was quickly fired, as he did not bring any value to the development, but only created conflicts.
This person is no longer associated with Moon Studios. We signed him to a short-term contract and let him go. He only brought discord to our team.
Mahler said in March that his company “doesn’t actually hire consultants.” He wrote on site X:
We don’t actually hire consultants, so forgive me if I’ve ignored all your posts. And I know I’ll be hated for it, but it is what it is.
