The opposition judge decided to renew the detention of the accused of killing “Munjid Al-Maadi” for 15 days, pending investigations into his accusation of premeditated murder.
The prosecution’s investigations revealed details of the killing of an upholsterer named Ayman Abed, by the husband of his ex-fiancée, due to jealousy.
The details of the case began with a notification to the Maadi Police Station that Ayman Abed, 42, a resident of Kotsika in Helwan, was absent. Indeed, his body parts were found in a deserted area in Maadi Corniche.
Investigations, information gathering, and cameras unloading indicated that the former victim’s fiancée’s husband was behind the commission of the incident, so he was arrested.
In front of the investigation authorities, the accused confessed to committing the incident, saying that since his marriage he had felt jealous of his ex-wife’s fiancé, so he thought of a plan to get rid of him, by renting an apartment next to the latter’s work in Hadayek Helwan.
He said that he lured his victim with a phone call, “Come, I have needs that I want to seek help,” adding that the accused took advantage of the victim’s preoccupation and inflicted several separate stab wounds on him in the abdomen and back until he breathed his last, and fearing the scandal, he cut his body into small pieces, put it in plastic bags, and dumped it in a deserted area near the Corniche. The Public Prosecution authorized an autopsy to clarify the causes and circumstances of death and to hand it over to his family for burial.
