He lost consciousness and swallowed his tongue.. The injury of the former Egyptian Zamalek player during the match

The 34-year-old player fainted during a match for his team, which plays in the Egyptian Third Division League, at his club’s stadium in Port Said Governorate, after a clash with one of the opposing players.

The medical team of Port Fouad Club rushed to treat the player and save him from death after he swallowed his tongue, and he was transferred to a hospital in Port Said.

The medical team treating the player confirmed that Hossam Arafat lost consciousness and suffered a suspected skull fracture and bleeding, which led to him being placed under medical observation despite his stable health condition.

Port Fouad Club published a statement on its official page wishing the player a speedy recovery and return to the field.

Port Fouad club management cancelled the friendly match that was scheduled for today, Tuesday, with the Rabat club team in Port Said governorate.

A source said that Hossam Arafat began his treatment protocol, was placed under observation and underwent a CT scan, and the situation is reassuring.

The source concluded his statements by saying: The player has started his treatment protocol and the solution protocol, and is under observation for 24 hours based on the club’s desire.

Hossam Arafat began his career at Mansoura Club before moving to Zamalek in 2008 to join the youth sector, and he was promoted to the first team the following year.

Former Zamalek striker Arafat played on loan for Petrojet before moving to Ghazl El Mahalla on a free transfer in 2013.

Arafat then played for Wadi Degla, Enppi and Aswan before moving to Port Fouad last month.
