“He left me with dusty dreams”: Luis Pedraza remembered his brother Diego

The national artist was invited to the Más Vivi que Nunca program on TV+, and there he talked regarding how difficult it was to move on without his brother Diego and what the moment was like when he performed the song El Triste de José José on the program El Retador, which he dedicated to his brother.

“The director told me: the only condition for you to sing this song is that you don’t burst your emotions. Please don’t start crying. I told him: well, I’m going to try, “said the singer.

Despite this, he indicated that prior to his presentation, he dedicated it to his brother, “I swear I don’t understand how it doesn’t explode.” This presentation took place in September 2021. “In fact, as a critic, I see it, and I recognize that it was my best show,” he added.

“There is a lot of contained emotion, so being with that lump in the throat was very hard, but hey, it was achieved,” said Luis Pedraza.

After 5 years of the loss of his brother, the artist recalled how he managed to cope with this difficult moment.

Luis Pedraza on the loss of his brother

Singer Luis Pedraza commented on his brother’s death, “Diego was my other half. It has been the hardest test that life has put on me, the fact that he left so young, he was going to be 26 years old, he was 5 days away from his birthday”.

His brother worked as his music producer and sound engineer. “We traveled everywhere together, he was a low-key guy, but he was a genius,” he noted.

“So when he left, he left me with my dreams blown to dust, without wanting to continue singing,” he added.

“It was like a common dream, the first three years were the hardest,” he concluded.

However, Luis Pedraza concluded by saying that over the years, he began to get stronger.
