He is my father I respect him, it was his decision to go to India and call it his home: Azaan Sami

Singer Adnan Sami Khan, who got Indian citizenship, is often criticized in Pakistan due to his controversial statements.

While Adnan Sami is busy making his name in the Bollywood industry after moving to India, his and actress Zeba Bakhtiar’s son Azan Sami Khan is considered to be a fast rising star of the Pakistani showbiz industry.

Azaan Samee Khan composed music for two big Pakistani films ‘Prey Hit Love’ and ‘Superstar’ released on Eid this year. Recently, Azaan Sami Khan spoke to the media about his career and his relationship with his father.

Regarding the criticism of his father Adnan Sami Khan, Azan Sami Khan said that ‘There are some days when I get many messages regarding my father, while sometimes there is complete silence, as far as I am concerned. I have always kept quiet about this, he is my father, I respect him, it was his decision to go to India and call it his home, I respect that decision, but I call Pakistan my home. Granted, I want to work in Pakistan’.

On the question of working in India, he said, ‘I have many close friends in India, but Pakistan is my home, the industry here is my home, I have been with the people here since childhood and I will feel very proud. When I can do something for the entertainment industry here’.

He added that ‘I have lived with my mother but I have a friendship with my father, whenever I need advice I go to him, but I cannot tell him what is right and wrong’.

Referring to her mother, actress Zeba Bakhtiar, she said, “Whatever I am today is because of her, she is an extremely honest and patriotic woman.” Azaan Adnan Sami also said that he will soon be seen acting in a film for which he is very excited and nervous.

The film has been named ‘Patakh De’, the shooting of which will begin later this year, in which Haniya Aamir will play the lead role along with him. Azan Sami started his career as a musician and writer.

It should be remembered that Adnan Sami, who has sung many songs for Indian and Pakistani films, got married to Pakistani actress Zeba Bakhtiar in 1993, after which they separated after four years.

Adnan Sami first visited India on 13 March 2001 on a one-year visitors visa, after which his visa was extended several times. He was announced to be granted Indian citizenship in 2015.
