Selena rose to fame as a teenager playing the lead role of Alex Russo on the magical Disney Channel sitcom ‘Wizards of Waverley Place’ and soon launched a pop career, with songs like ‘A Year Without Rain’. While performing with her fellow Fifth Harmony members, Lauren had a VERY obvious mime mistake. In her performance of ‘I’m In Love With A Monster’, a dance move poorly timed with her costume change, she uncovered a recorded track. Like her partner Lauren, Camila was sadly caught off guard when the band was performing one of their early hits, ‘Sledgehammer’, at a Macy’s window display. As she waited for the song to start, Camila asked the audience “how’s everyone feeling?”, but her pre-recorded voice decided to enter the scene in the middle of her greeting. Although Camila was quick to lip sync, the damage had already been done.

To a lot of people, Beyoncé can do no wrong, but for fans of certain performances during her ‘On The Run’ tour, a set of lip-syncs was a downfall. One clip in particular seemed to show Beyoncé blatantly forgetting that she has to pretend to sing. During the sultry track ‘Partition’, B began to interact with fans, taking the microphone out of her mouth.

Ashlee Simpson

In her appearance on ‘Saturday Night Live’, Ashlee Simpson fell for a lip sync mistake. A wrong track started playing with pre-recorded vocals, leaving the singer stranded on stage with nothing to do. Ashlee proceeded to improvise before awkwardly walking offstage. In the end, she said the embarrassing moment was due to “her band playing the wrong song.”

The ‘…Baby One More Time’ legend has long been accused of lip-syncing, and even admitted to using a “little bit of lip-syncing” to help him at his Las Vegas residency shows back in 2017. But in 2009, the pop star was on tour with ‘The Circus Starring Britney Spears’, in support of her sixth studio album, when things really took a different turn. When the tour reached Australia, fans are said to have walked out of the show when they realized she wasn’t singing live. After the show, then-Fair Trade Minister Virginia Judge admitted that she was aware Britney would not be singing live, and the event sparked a national debate regarding whether concert-goers should be warned beforehand.
