STOCKHOLM. Yasin Ayari continues to follow AIK zealously from England.
It’s not surprising when little brother Taha plays there.
In the future, the Brighton professional hopes that he and his brother will be able to do what Albin Ekdal and Hjalmar Ekdal never got: to play together in the Swedish national team.
– That is the dream. Above all for the father and the family, says the 20-year-old.
It’s been a year and a half since Yasin Ayari left AIK to play in Brighton. After loans to Coventry and Blackburn, the midfielder has received more and more playing time at the Premier League club – and was now also rewarded with a place in the Swedish national team.
However, the midfielder continues to zealously follow AIK from England by watching every match on TV. Little brother Taha plays as you know in Gnaget and was replaced already after 18 minutes in the victory against IFK Värnamo last time which was not due to any injury. Yasin Ayari reacts to it.
– I haven’t talked to him much about it, to be honest. I think it was just shady, I haven’t asked him, says Ayari who, despite AIK’s five straight Allsvenskan winning matches, is not completely sold on Mikkjal Thomassen’s football.
– Things are going well now for AIK, but game-wise it’s not a highlight if you say so. But yeah, I’m not there. I don’t know what’s going on, he says and continues:
– I think everyone who understands football knows what I mean. It’s not that hard to see that they don’t play the best football in the world. But they win, so you shouldn’t complain.
Can AIK take a European place?
– Yes, if they continue to play like this and win then why not?
The brothers Ekdal, Albin and Hjalmar, were never allowed to do any international matches together. 20-year-old Yasin Ayari hopes to do it together with his two-year-younger brother Taha in the future.
– That is the dream. Above all for the father and the family. We aim for it. He has to work a little harder.
