“He didn’t hurt anyone, he just assaulted”: The unusual claim of the mother of a murdered thief in Guatemala

A true statement unusual was recorded in Guatemala as a result of a police incident that cost the life of an assailant in the municipality of Santa Lucía. The death of the subject caused the logical relief of the mother of the deceased, who dispatched a striking phrase to defend what her son called Josué García, who was known as “El Tortolita”, was doing.

“My son got up early to rob the buses, as always, but they killed him,” the woman said, adding that “he didn’t hurt anyone. He didn’t shoot anybody, he just mugged them“said the woman.

García boarded a bus in the company of Vidal Alfredo Barillas with the clear objective of assaulting the passengers.. But they did not count on the reaction of one of the occupants, who surprisingly took a gun and shot Garcia, while his partner twisted his ankle while trying to get off the means of transport.

Barillas Herrera, When he got off the bus he observed the units of the National Civil Police and in his attempt to flee he suffered a ankle doubloon, for which medical attention was necessary, with their respective police custody “police officers reported to the media in the area.

The author of the shot was no longer at the scene when law enforcement personnel arrived, whoWho found the lifeless body of the assailant. It was at that moment when the mother of the murdered man burst in to tell them that “He was only dedicated to assaulting.”

It should be noted that “El Tortolita” already had a criminal record: he had previously been arrested for crimes of robbery, possession of drugs for consumption and extortion.
