The Minister of Culture in the caretaker government, Judge Muhammad Wissam Al-Murtada, announced, in a statement issued on the anniversary of the disappearance of Imam Musa Al-Sadr, that “forty-four years time has sat on the seat of your absence, embracing your presence in all its details, and reading in the minutest minutes the story of your light that they wanted to block, and it became more and more flaming.” . And here you are, following more than four decades, and history appears before you as an accused before a judge, pleading and defending, and asking for his innocence from the sin of their tyranny.”
He said, “But history is not innocent. The day on which you wrote in his memoirs that you were absent, should have fallen from the calendar of years, not to become a sad memory that we restore every year until you return to us as beautiful as your first sight, and you see your Lebanese children from you, of different affiliations, deprived of their affiliations. With the bitterness of their old deprivation, which was bred with thought, determination, speech and struggle, to remove it from the burden of their lives.”
He added, “One very beautiful thing happened in your absence, that we defeated the enemy of humanity and drove him out of most of our southern land, and now he trembles if the breeze moves a branch from a tree near the border, or a shepherd sings as he walks his flock there from valley to mountain.” All this happened to us with the blessing of your jihad and the faith that you planted in free and proud souls. As for national unity, we are still on its path. It is the goal for which I worked, and for which I moved between mosques, churches, retreats, and hussainiyas, so you were an imam, a bishop and a Sheikh of mind at the same time, and cities and villages traveled from the farthest corners of the country to the bottom, working on the discovery of man, and proclaiming that he is the center of life, the destination of religions, and the engine of history. This is how you were able to enter into the depth of the meaning of meeting the other through the gate of religious values that embody higher human values.”
And he added, “I tell you: We will remain on the covenant until we see you among us? Little words to heal the wound of absence! But yes, you will remain among us, because you have defeated their tyranny, so they have become graves, and you are full of eyes.”
