A speedrun beaten twice in less than 24 hours
A famous player MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV has smashed a world record five years old, following months of intensive training. But the speedrunning community is still improving, optimizingand … his glory was of short time. Indeed, the original record holder regained his title less than 24 hours later ! The speedrun in question is the famous Kugane tower jump courseintroduced in l’extension Stormblood de Final Fantasy XIV. This challenge involves moving on tiny platforms to reach the top of the tower.
He comes out of retirement to take back his throne
The YouTuber Pint, a real legend in the community of Final Fantasy XIVdecided to take up the challenge by beating the Kugane tower world record owned by player Em0_oticon. The latter had held the record for more than five years, but Pint managed to reduce his playing time at 43.30 seconds, a pretty incredible performance. However, the poor speedrunner didn’t keep his record for very long… Less than a day later, Em0_oticon is came out of “retirement” to smash the record once more established by Pint with an even more impressive time of 38.74 seconds.
24 hours that will go down in FF XIV history
Em0_oticon not only has regained his title of world champion of the Kugane Tower speedrun, but he also added a touch of extravagance to his victory. Dressed in a golden elephant costumehe showed the whole world that he was ready to do anything to maintain its place in the history of Final Fantasy XIV. A nice friendly (but still competitive) rivalry that will remain engraved in the annals of the game and which continues to make the gaming community talk.
