HDI: New motor vehicle tariff focuses on sustainability | AssCompact

That is new:

The CO2 value is taken into account in motor liability insurance according to the WLTP method (Worldwide Harmonized Light-Duty Vehicles Test Procedure): fewer pollutants, lower premiums. Hybrid and electric vehicles are considered separately and rewarded with environmental bonuses.

There are now optional packages for comprehensive insurance that are individually tailored to the respective type of drive. The “E-package”, a precautionary package for electric and hybrid vehicles, can be applied for as an optional service module in the comprehensive and partial comprehensive insurance variants. Among other things, this offers insurance cover for the wall box that is also insured, for damage caused by indirect lightning strikes and damage caused by hacker attacks.

The KaskoPLUS package offers a cover module for combustion engines and hybrid vehicles and includes damage insurance and replacement value compensation.

“When developing the product, we made sure to ensure that the tariff also contains those features that are aimed at sustainability,” reports Doris Schiebel, head of the specialist department for private lines. “Aligned to the changed needs and behavior of our customers as well as changes in legislation, we have designed a tariff that fits PUNKT:GENAU. Regardless of the type of drive, there are certainly attractive insurance solutions. Sustainable purchasing decisions, such as the cost-intensive purchase of e-vehicles, should be promoted. At the same time, those who continue to rely on combustion engines, but pay attention to lower CO2 emissions, are also rewarded – lower CO2 values mean less premiums.”

That remains:

The new car tariff also includes seven additional bonus levels with annual advancement, the large international insurance card issued free of charge for 3 months and an 11% discount in the HDI workshop network. The partner workshops also offer discounts on liability insurance for self-payers (e.g. annual service), provided the selected workshop offers the “mechanics” service. In addition, people with comprehensive insurance only pay half the deductible at HDI partner workshops.

“Our focus must be on making decisions that will ensure a livable world for future generations. We are aware of our responsibility as a company. For us, sustainability not only means that profits made flow into sustainable investments, but that these profits are already made in an environmentally and socially responsible manner and that we also act accordingly in our day-to-day work. Our new motor vehicle tariff for 2022 should also make a contribution to this,” explains Günther Weiß, CEO of HDI Versicherung AG.
