On the eve of the premiere of The Last Of Us series, the HBO Max announced an increase in the value of its subscription, the first readjustment since it was launched in 2020. The change is only valid in the United States and should not affect the Latin American market, at least not for now. The subscription there used to cost US$ 14.99 and has now gone up to US$ 15,99that is, only 1 dollar difference.

The change in values is immediate and comes shortly following the company announced the removal of various content from the platform as a cost-cutting measure. In recent weeks, HBO Max has axed several exclusive films and canceled production on some original series, such as Minx and The Nevers, as well as 256 classic Looney Tunes shorts and three seasons of The Flintstones.
Regarding the change in values, the company communicated:
“This one dollar price increase will allow us to continue investing in providing even more culture-defining programming and improving the customer experience for all users”

In Brazil, the values remain the same since it was announced in 2021. The monthly subscription costs BRL 27.90but the company also offers a plan of R$ 74.90 for three months and R$ 239.90 for the annual plan, which gives a discount of more than seven reais per month.
