Kristie Allen wanted to spend a nice few weeks in Hawaii with her husband. But the holiday should turn into a cruel nightmare for both of them.
Maui – Kristie Allen († 60) was with her husband Hawaii-Vacation. The two wanted to enjoy nature, relax and surf. The 60-year-old learned the latter only recently. But the vacation would turn into a tragic nightmare for the couple.

Like the British Sun reported the 60-year-old was reported missing by her husband Blake on December 8 following he – along with other witnesses – watched his wife being attacked by a “large tiger shark”.
The couple was snorkeling just 50 meters from shore when they both noticed the dangerous animal. Since the Allens might only see each other “from time to time,” Blake was much more likely to notice the shark than his unsuspecting wife.
At this point, witnesses had already tried to loudly warn the couple from the shore regarding the Finn circling in the sea.
During a brief struggle, the pair reportedly managed to briefly fend off the animal. Blake Allen eventually managed to swim safely back to shore.
His wife Kristie, on the other hand, wasn’t so lucky. A beach visitor saw “the big mouth of the shark eating something in the middle of the red cloud in the water,” said Dan Dennison, spokesman for the Department of Land and Natural Resources. “She was eaten alive by the giant tiger shark.”

Just a few days before the horrible bad luck the massage therapist shared pictures of her first attempts at surfing Facebook.
She wrote, “Chasing dreams! I’ve wanted to learn to surf for years. I’m committed to creating a life I love big and small.”
A little further in the text, the 60-year-old thanked the local surf school: “Many thanks to Kainalu from Maui Surf and SUP! You are the best! We loved our lessons and the joy of riding the wave.”
This cheerful news has now taken a tragic turn in the face of the unforeseeable tragedy.
Search for Kristie Allen’s body canceled
A 40-hour air and sea search involving the U.S. Coast Guard, the fire department from Maui and sea rescue teams had to be aborted on December 9th without success.
Only part of her swimsuit and her snorkel set were found on the beach followingwards. To this day, however, there is no trace of Kristine Allen’s body.
