Photovoltaic panels will appear on buildings in Haute-Sorne. The General Council validated Monday evening a framework credit of 800,000 francs for the construction of several power plants. The municipality thus validates its strategy which aims to favor projects bringing high added value. Haute-Sorne had already considered the installation of photovoltaic power plants three years ago. However, it turns out that the prices linked to this technology have evolved since then… and the project too, because certain roofs require repair work. Thanks to the green light given Monday by the general councilors, work will start soon on the roofs of the Glovelier and Courfaivre primary schools. Next spring, a photovoltaic power plant will be installed on the roof of the Haute-Sorne secondary school in Bassecourt… starting next year, future projects will be studied on other buildings to further expand the surface area. of solar panels in Haute-Sorne.
A duty to set an example
It was an object which had already caused a lot of ink to flow before the meeting… the General Council refused to take up the matter on a payment of a compensatory amount of more than 54,000 francs which had been paid in 2021 to the members of the municipal council. This sum was intended for elected officials who might not contribute to the LPP, because their activity as municipal councilor was considered incidental. Problem is, this amount was granted without a legal basis, according to the delegate for municipal affairs. The general councilors refused by 21 votes to 8 to enter into the matter, stressing that it was essential that the laws be respected within the legislature and that the credibility of the municipality was at stake.
Still on the remuneration of elected officials, the General Council accepted by 20 votes to 4 and 6 abstentions the adaptation of the rate of office of the mayor and municipal councilors, from 50 to 60% and 25 to 30% respectively.
We paddle, we paddle
Water was also discussed during the session. The General Council refused to enter into the matter concerning the partial implementation of measures linked to the general drinking water supply plan, criticizing the file for not being sufficiently documented. On the other hand, elected officials accepted a study credit for supraregional connection measures between the water networks of Haute-Sorne and the Porrentruy district. Still on the subject of blue gold, PLR elected official Damien Guerdat was concerned regarding the “enormous” needs for deep geothermal drilling, pointing the finger at promoters who only mention the first phase of the project when they make reference to water requirements. Municipal councilor Céline Grellier declared, without certainty, that it was possible that Géo-Energie Suisse would bring water from outside and not draw all its needs from the Tabeillon… the subject remains sensitive!
Change in sight in the career of “La Petite Morée”
Elected officials agreed Monday evening to modify the special “Carrière de la Petite Morée” plan. Thus, the site might store mineral materials resulting from demolition, which responds to a shortage in our region, according to the Haute-Sorne authorities. The people will vote on this matter in November. /male
