First of all, K. Hatzidakis was impressed by the presence of the members and friends of the ND who created the inseparable in the “Symposium”. “With such people I am sure that the Prefecture of Achaia will remain blue in the upcoming European elections“said the “Tsar” of the Greek Economy from step to step, but also at the wells. He himself had short discussions with the four deputy governors who were “present” at the event (Fokion Zaimis, Anna Mastorakou, Georgia Datsika, Takis Antonopoulos), while he was pleasantly surprised when he saw the MP of Achaia Jason Fotila to appear with Halloween costume.

In fact, K. Hatzidakis he immediately got into the mood and wished everyone “Happy Birthday!” and “Happy Father’s Day Carnival!”. The vice president of ND he also spoke with the head of the major opposition of the Municipality of Patreon, Kostas Svolis and the president of OLPA Panagiotis Anastasopoulos, while he was impressed by the presence of many health workers. “Patras is always in my heart” was the comment he made, recalling his ties to our city from the ONNED years (in fact, he made special references to DEEP vice-president Costas Rigopoulos). And one last thing: The arrival of the Minister of National Economy and Finance at the “Symposium” took place while the heavens had opened, something, however, that did not seem to deter him or anyone.

Port of Patras – train connection in any way

At the meeting issues concerning the improvement of the operation of the port were discussed, infrastructure, investment and growth opportunities. Furthermore the Organization’s plan was analyzed, with special reference to the projects that are expected to be implemented in the immediate period, such as that of the mega yacht marina, as well as the Dry Berth in the southern port. Subsequently the national importance of the country’s efforts to exploit hydrocarbon deposits was discussedas well as the need for Patras to be our port, the support base for the whole project.

The minister emphasized that the government stands next to the Agency and rapidly implements the necessary steps, so that the port of Patras acquires an even more central role on the map of the port industry.

Mr. Anastasopoulos however, he did not hesitate to express her as well his anxiety over the delays that exist in the matter of the railway connection of the port with the rest of the country. He characteristically stated “The port of Patras must be connected by rail with the rest of the country YESTERDAY! By any means. Otherwise we will lose every opportunity as a port, but much more as a city”. Agony, which Mr. Hatzidakis shared, as every day that passes is also a lost opportunity for the port of Patras.
