Celebrating heritage
Mana Al Kaabi, Chairman of the Hatta Traders Council, said that the festival comes within the initiatives of the Supreme Committee to Supervise the Development of the Hatta Region, which supports enhancing the economic and tourism aspects of Hatta, supporting merchants and small business owners, and celebrating the rich heritage and agricultural production for which the mountainous environment of Hatta is famous, pointing out that the festival represents An opportunity for the people of the region to market their products and crops by building partnerships with various sales outlets in the country, and it motivates them to preserve the profession of their fathers and grandfathers whose primary craft and profession was crop cultivation and livestock raising.
He added that the Hatta region includes approximately 223 farms that produce more than 25 diverse crops of fruits and vegetables, and farm owners seek to grow new crops by adopting sustainable and smart agricultural methods that preserve the environment and resources.
He continued: There are also more than 200 farms dedicated to raising and multiplying livestock, including different and rare breeds, whose owners produce varieties of cheese, milk, animal ghee, eggs, and others.
The festival includes a dynamic program of workshops and dialogue sessions for local farms, with the aim of supporting the agricultural sector in Dubai.
