Hassan Nasrallah’s assassination heightens tensions in volatile region: Pakistan

Pakistan’s Foreign Office said on Sunday that the “unending act” of killing Hezbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah in Lebanon is adding to tensions in an already volatile region.

In a statement issued by the Foreign Office, it has been said that “Pakistan strongly condemns the growing Israeli adventures in the Middle East.” Its relentless attacks on civilian populations and its violation of international law have reached alarming levels.’

The statement said that Pakistan stands in solidarity with the people of Lebanon.

Assassination of Hassan Nasrallah

The Lebanese group Hezbollah confirmed on Saturday that Hassan Nasrallah had been killed in an Israeli strike in Beirut. Hezbollah had expressed its determination to continue the war against Israel.

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has said that the killing of Hassan Nasrallah will be avenged.

According to the Reuters news agency, in a statement read out on state television, Ayatollah Khamenei said, “Hasan Nasrallah was not an individual.” They were a path and an ideology and that path will continue.’

According to Iran’s official media, Khamenei previously said in a statement that “the destiny of this region will be in the hands of resistance forces, among which Hezbollah is at the forefront.”

Condemnation of Hamas

Hamas condemned the death of Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah in an Israeli strike.

According to AFP, the organization said in a statement, “We condemn in the strongest terms this barbaric Zionist aggression and targeting of residential buildings.”

“We call this a cowardly terrorist act and express our condolences and solidarity with Hezbollah and the brothers of the Islamic resistance in Lebanon on the death of Hassan Nasrallah.”
