The national team fast bowler Hasan Ali, who recovered from the injury after five months, got injured again after playing just 38.5 overs in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy.

The fast bowler is currently under the supervision of a physiotherapist in Karachi and has been advised to rest for a week before taking any further decisions regarding his fitness.

He is being monitored continuously and will undergo another MRI scan in a few days to determine the severity of his injuries.

Hasan Ali prepared himself for competitive cricket after several months of training at the High Performance Center in Lahore and played his first match in the current season of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy just a few days ago.

In the first round match played at the National Stadium against Sindh, he took 3 wickets by giving 106 runs in 32.3 overs, but in the second round against Northern Punjab, he could only bowl 6.2 overs on the first day of the match and left the match groaning in pain. Walked out and his team lost the match by 9 wickets.

During this time, he missed out on representing Pakistan at the international level on a regular basis and consequently lost out on the central contract as he last represented Pakistan in the World Cup 2019 against India.

He was also declared fit for the Pakistan Super League but even there he did not look fully fit and in form and took 8 wickets with an economy rate of 8.59 in 9 matches.

Despite losing the central contract, Hasan Ali will be able to avail expensive medical facilities at the board’s expense while he will continue to get additional financial support from the board.

It is also worth mentioning here that despite the injury, Hasan Ali will remain in Karachi and will likely join Peshawar Zalmi’s squad for the Pakistan Super League play-offs starting from November 14.
