The Redmi Note 12 has several different versions, but the one we tested today is the 4G, which was launched in October 2022 with the processor Snapdragon 685, 4GB RAM and a basic battery of 5000 mAh capacity. The screen of this device consists of an amazing OLED display, 6.67 “, fullHD resolution and 120Hz refresh rate.
Following tradition, the Note 12 continues in that exclusive category of cheap Redmi, leaving for just R$ 1.170,00 at the time this video was recorded.
Just like we did on the Roda Liso of the Galaxy A54, the competitor of the Redmi Note 12 is the Redmi Note 11, the previous version of this little guy here. It’s not often that we can compare the evolution of a specific model here in our gaming test, so let’s take the opportunity today and pit the last generation once morest the current generation.
And just so we don’t get out of habit, let’s remind you that the graphics in all the games we play today are in the minimum qualityalways prioritizing performance, since the two test takers are entry-level smartphones.
Redmi Note 12 test in heavy games
COD Mobile
If you are looking for a device to play COD Mobile specifically, you have come to the wrong place, as the Redmi Note 12 leaves a lot to be desired in this regard.
In addition to the impossibility of adjusting the graphics to higher options, the game forces you to play in 40 FPS, making a smoother gaming experience impossible. Furthermore, the Note 12 scored 94% stability and an autonomy of 6:15h.
Anyway, the Note 11 was also in the 40 FPS zone, but with a satisfactory stability of 100%.

Diablo Immortal
Our assessment of Diablo Immortal’s performance was somewhat counterintuitive, I’ll explain why.
Although the performance was “OK” with a frame rate average of 30, with 98% stability for the Note 12, I felt that there were still some very sudden stutters during gameplay, making it impossible for GameBench to register them correctly. In fact, during our quick test play, we noticed a very quick visual bug, similar to the one we found in the Smooth Wheel of the Realme C55. Anyway, his autonomy was nothing unusual, following the average duration of 5:30h.
The Redmi Note 11 had a slightly better result, with an average of 30 frames as well, but a stability of 99%.

eFootball
In Real Football, you only need one ball to play. In e-Football, you only need a Redmi Note 12, there is no mistake. This game runs practically on every cell phone and you won’t have any performance problems if you run it on the lowest graphics, which is what we did.
The Note 12 averaged 60 FPS, with a stability of 99% and autonomy of 5:50 hours.
The Redmi Note 11 was not tested in this game, a pity.

Fortnite
I think getting punched in the face would be less painful than watching this Fortnite gameplay on the Redmi Note 12. This game is simply UNPLAYABLE on the Note 12, even with the graphics at minimum, even with the resolution at 10%.
the frame rate average was 2 FPS and the minimum was 1. It’s even difficult to measure these numbers in this specific case because, on several occasions, the game froze for more than 1 second, so we shouldn’t use “frames per second” but “seconds per frame”.
Anyway, the Note 11 also disappointed, but in a more realistic and modest zone, scoring 25 frames on average, with a minimum of 6.
Well, following that battle, the Redmi Note 12 managed to unlock the secret seal, the channel forbidden seal: O ????Trash Wheel Seal ????dedicated to the worst of the worst performers. The Roda Lixo Seal is dedicated to devices that do just the bare minimum: being able to open the game.
Free Fire
This time there are no pranks, no tricks and no “mouse catchers”. Frifas ran super well on the Redmi Note 12, with the exception of a snippet right at the beginning of the game in which the game stuttered once or twice, but everything went smoothly following that.
His average performance was 60 FPS, with 99% stability and an autonomy of 6:15h.
The Redmi Note 11 also fulfilled its mission, scoring 60 FPS, at 100% stability in Free Fire.

Genshin Impact
You often complain that our Stamp system doesn’t take game stability into account, giving positive marks to games that run horribly poorly.
Well this is one such case as the Redmi Note 12 scored 33 average frames, but with the disappointing stability of 82%, providing us with an extremely locked gameplay and difficult to enjoy. His autonomy was 4:15 hours long.
The Redmi Note 11 reached an average of 31 frames, with an even worse stability of 73%.
⚠️The village Wheels⚠️ for both smartphones, however in practice it will certainly be difficult to enjoy in these conditions.
Mortal Kombat
This is by far the biggest disappointment of the video, without a doubt.
The Redmi Note 12 performed well below expectations in Mortal Kombat, scoring only the average of 38 FPS, with a stability of 99% and autonomy of 6:30h. It is worth remembering that Mortal Kombat is one of the games that we did not adjust the graphics here in our test, since it only works in its default configuration, thus allowing very high frame rates, as we have seen several times on the channel.
The Note 11 was one of the devices that released this frame rate in full, scoring 75 FPS on average, with a stability of 91%.

PUBG
With our GFX Tools tricks turned on, the Redmi Note 12 ran PUBG without major problems, with a constant frame rate, avoiding stuttering and stuttering. Unfortunately we mightn’t reach a framerate of 90, but the 60 we got is already good enough.
The Note 12 set the bar for 60 FPS, with 100% stability and 5:25h of battery life.
The Redmi Note 11 scored just 30 FPS, with 100% stability on the lowest graphics. However, be warned that we did not test it with GFX Tools turned on, following all we were not using the app at the time that Roda Liso came out.

Tower of Fantasy
Finally, to close with a flourish, we have yet another scabrous performance by the Redmi Note 12.
This little guy disappointed a lot in Tower Of Fantasy, since, despite scoring the average of 48 frames, fared with a miserable 59% stability, resulting in the biggest and most intense TRAVADAS in the history of this channel. A Note 12 autonomy was 4:15h of battery lifelower than in some other games, but still under control.
The Redmi Note 11 was not tested in this game, unfortunately.
With this, the Redmi Note 12 will take the ✔️The village Flat Wheel✔️ in Tower Of Fantasy, but with our warning that the stability in this game is far below the acceptable line.
Temperature
As in the previous season, we played COD Mobile for an hour with all the graphics at maximum, so that we would know how much battery was lost in that period, as well as the temperature of the device’s screen. After that one hour of gameplay, the Redmi Note 12 warmed up ????10°C???? on its surface and lost ????6%???? of load.
These numbers are quite reasonable considering the firepower of the device, so if Note 12 warmed up more than 10°C, the situation would be worrying. As for the battery, Xiaomi’s devices in this line have had an unusual autonomy for some time now.and it is no different in this case.
Conclusion
If you reached this part of the video looking for words of consolation and reasons to buy the Redmi Note 12, you will be disappointed. I’ll have to be honest with you now: there are no reasons to buy the Redmi Note 12 for gaming at the moment, as the device performs poorly in several gameseven with the graphics at a minimum, not bringing anything new to the gameplay when compared to the last generation model.
You might even think “but its processor is a Snapdragon 685, which is better than the 680 on the Redmi Note 11” but that’s not quite how the band plays. On paper the Snapdragon 685 performs better than the 680, however, in practice, this difference is so minimal, but so minimal, that you don’t even realize that they are different pieces. The “superior performance” that the Note 12 may have depends much more on the optimization and effort that Xiaomi puts into creating the smartphone and less on the piece itself. Optimization that, by the way, was not well executed, as the device closes the games when we switch windows and stutters even when we are not playing.
So no, our final verdict is that the Redmi Note 12 is not a good gaming smartphoneespecially when compared to its predecessor, Redmi Note 11. With that, it gets the first ❌No Wheel Seal❌ of the year, occupying the last place in our ranking of input smartphones.
