The developers of the next “Gran Theft Auto” are due to unveil a first announcement video in early December. While waiting for a possible release date, the pre-order date for the game has reportedly been revealed.

The entire video game industry has its eyes on the beginning of December. This is when Rockstar Games decided to reveal the first official images of the next opus in the Grand Theft Auto saga.

One of the big expectations surrounding this video is whether it will reveal the release date of GTA VI. But on Twitter, the Rockstar Universe account claims to have discovered the pre-order date for the future title. He even assures, with supporting screenshots, that an employee of the reseller Argos (the equivalent of Fnac in the United Kingdom) would have confirmed the information to him.

An industry habit

According to him, it will be possible to pre-order the new GTA from December 12. As pointed out Mashable, this date should be taken with a pinch of salt. Firstly because the publication was put online on Twitter on Thursday November 23 and it has not made much noise since. Also, it is impossible to authenticate the screenshots presented by the Rockstar Universe account.

However, December 12 seems to coincide with industry habits. In general, the reveal images of a game are an opportunity to launch pre-orders for a title. In the industry, publishers and development studios have already used this strategy in the past.

Most often, pre-orders for a game are available the same day a trailer is released, the next day, or a week later. If the date of December 12 is correct, it is therefore possible to see the first images of the game appear on Tuesday, December 5.
