After a two-minute, nationally-acclaimed silence, Charles, 73, burst into tears as “God Save the King” played before the contestants exited Westminster Abbey.

He also left a special handwritten note that was carried with his mother’s casket that read, “In loving and devoted memories.”
In a statement shared via the royal family’s Instagram account ahead of the funeral, King Charles III shared his gratitude for the world’s good wishes.
“Over the past ten days, my wife and I have been deeply touched by the many messages of condolence and support we have received from this country and around the world,” he said.
