Hartikainen at GSHC for one season

A third Beijing 2022 Olympic champion will wear the colors of Genève-Servette this season. Teemu Hartikainen has signed up for a year with the Vernets club, the club announced.

The 30-year-old Finnish striker will find his compatriots Sami Vatanen and Valtteri Filppula in Geneva, who were also part of the team crowned in February in China. The three men also picked up the world title in May.

Teemu Hartikainen has been playing for Salavat Yulaev Ufa in the KHL since the start of the 2013/14 season. He was the league’s top foreign scorer in 2020/21, with 64 points in 53 regular season games, and the top scorer in the 2019 play-offs.

The GSHC foreign legion is therefore complete, and it looks great. In addition to the Finnish trio, coach Jan Cadieux can count on the services of Swedes Linus Omark and Henrik Tömmernes as well as those of Canadian Daniel Winnik. A Linus Omark who spent seven seasons in the same locker room as Teemu Hartikainen, two in Edmonton / Oklahoma City and five with Salavat Yulaev Ufa.
