A week following winning the Grammy Award in the United States, British pop star Harry Styles won the Best Artist of the Year award at the Brit Music Awards in London yesterday.
Styles, who also won awards during the event for Best Album of the Year, Best Pop Album for “Harry’s House” and Song of the Year for “As It Was”, said: “This night was really very special for me and I will never forget it.” Despite the lack of discrimination between the sexes in this award since last year, in an attempt to reward the candidates “only for their work and music”, the competition for the Artist of the Year award this year was limited to men, following Adele won last year’s edition. Styles dedicated the award to his fellow finalists, but were not nominated for the Grand Prix.
