The American “Daily Beast” website quoted sources in the British royal palace, that King Charles III may have already found the only solution to end the confusion surrounding the issue of his son Harry and his wife Megan.
Since his departure and his wife from the royal family, Prince Harry, the son of King Charles III, has dealt painful successive blows to the reputation of his ruling family in Britain, perhaps unintentionally, in multiple media interviews and statements issued by the American Megan Markle from time to time.
Faced with all this, the American “Daily Beast” website quoted sources it described as familiar and close to the palace circles that King Charles may have already found the only solution to end all this confusion, which is the “permanent exile” of his son and wife.
Permanent exile and the precedent of King Edward
The “Daily Beast” report said that Prince Harry is facing a life of “permanent exile”, as King Charles plans to follow previous rules followed by the royal family as it overcomes the crisis raised by King Edward VIII, who abdicated the throne in 1936 and had to live the rest of his life outside United kingdom.
And the American website quoted what he described as a “friend of the king” that “the members of the royal family dealt with the crisis of abdication at the time by denying Edward, which showed him with his wife Wallis once and for all in front of the British people that they are unimportant, misleading, and even traitors to almost all the British people. The Queen Mother Mary in particular has worked tirelessly in this effort.”
The source said the same is already happening with Harry and Meghan, and will increase in frequency over the next few years under King Charles. The misguidance of the king’s second son is not so much an existential threat to the fabric of the monarchy as to the king’s own reputation.
Charles’ ‘coded’ message to Harry and Meghan
“The Daily Beast” quoted another source, a former employee of Buckingham Palace, that the throne statement made by King Charles in which he announced the designation of his heir, Prince William and his wife, Princes of Wales, said that he “expresses his love for Harry and Meghan as they work to continue building their lives abroad.
The source believes this was a clear message to them not to disrupt his rule by making frequent trips to the UK.
According to the source, Harry and Meghan will receive an invitation to the coronation but will be seated firmly in the back seats alongside Prince Andrew’s daughters Beatrice and Eugenie, as they were at the late Queen’s funeral.
“Charles will be tough when it comes to protecting the crown, and that means keeping Harry and Meghan as far from the center of gravity as possible,” the former employee told the site.
The news comes on the heels of the revelation that Harry turned down Charles’ offer to dine the night he was at Balmoral following Queen Elizabeth’s death, following King Meghan had been banned from joining Harry at Balmoral.
Instead of joining Charles, Camilla and William for dinner at Charles’ home on the Balmoral estate, Harry stayed with Prince Andrew, Prince Edward and his wife Sophie at Balmoral Castle itself.
“Harry was so busy trying to get Meghan to Balmoral and got into an argument with his family that he missed the royal flight,” the source said.
But those developments may not have been what Harry and Meghan had wanted from the start when they announced their separation from the royal family; Although the couple made the decision to go and live in America, they aspired to a transcontinental role for themselves.
As they said, in the first departure announcement, “We are now planning to balance our time between the UK and North America.”
They were equally open regarding their desire to continue to “represent” the monarchy while being able to earn their own money.
But that plan was rejected by the late Queen during the so-called Sandringham Summit, as the couple were told they might not have a role in public life as part-time royals.
