SAN DIEGO (AP) — Marvel Studios returned to the annual Comic-Con event in San Diego with dancers dressed as Deadpool and a panel offering insights into the two upcoming “Revenge” films. “The League of Legends” movie and bring surprises to guests.

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige said that thanks to the success of “Deadpool and Wolverine” this weekend, the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has surpassed $30 billion in box office revenue. Before Feige spoke, the choir sang Madonna’s “Like a Prayer,” alluding to a scene in the movie.
“Deadpool and Wolverine,” which opens Thursday, has already broken box office records and may break more records in its opening weekend. Feige used Saturday’s panel to chart a path forward for the Marvel Universe and reveal Ford’s role in the upcoming “Captain America” movie. Additionally, he stated that Avengers: Secret Wars and Avengers: Endgame will be the titles of the next two films in the epic superhero team-up series.
Feige said all of the actors introduced Saturday will appear in the upcoming “Avengers” movie directed by Joe and Anthony Russo. The brothers took the Avengers franchise through a rich arc that culminated in 2019’s Avengers: Endgame with the death of Downey’s character, Tony Stark/Iron Man.
Saturday’s event comes after Marvel skipped the convention last year due to a strike in Hollywood that prevented writers and actors from speaking on panels. Feige was accompanied by several special guests, including stars from some of Marvel’s upcoming films, such as Captain America: Brave New World, Thunderbolt, and Fantastic Four.
The cast of Captain America: Brave New World (Giancarlo Esposito, Tim Blake Nelson, Danny Ramirez, and Anthony Mackie) were first on stage to introduce the upcoming film detailed information. Esposito revealed that he will play villain Seth Voelker, also known as Sidewinder.
The actors then stepped aside to share a scene from the movie on screen, revealing that President Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, played by Ford, hopes to rebuild the Avengers alongside Mackie’s Sam Wilson. It also showcases the transformation of Ford’s character into the Red Hulk. Ford joined the group after fans saw clips from the film showing off his muscles to viewers.
The cast and director of “Charlie’s Angels” also surprised fans with a short clip from the movie. Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan and David Harbor (dressed in costume and speaking first as Red Guardians) rushed the stage to share about Some additional details about their characters.
The premiere is expected to take place in May 2025.
The last film shown at the panel was Fantastic Four, starring Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. According to Feige, the film will start shooting in London on Tuesday.
