Harris, who is the Democratic presidential candidate, and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, who is her vice-presidential candidate, concluded the last of several campaign meetings in swing states on Saturday. On stage in Las Vegas, Nevada, Harris told supporters that she will fight to eliminate the tax on tips.
“My promise to everyone here is that, as president, I will continue to fight for working families, and that includes raising the minimum wage and eliminating tip taxation for service and hospitality workers,” Harris said.
She also said that she will work to reduce the price level, and she promised to take up the fight against large companies that engage in illegal price collusion and against real estate companies that raise the prices of rental housing too high, she said. Harris also mentioned that she will go after the drug companies to get them to lower their prices.
Trump said at a campaign event in the same city in June that he will fight to end taxing tips. Now he’s accusing Harris of stealing his politics.
– Kamala Harris, whose “Honeymoon Period IS ENDING … just copied my NO TAX ON TIPS policy,” Trump said on his social media platform Truth Social on Saturday.
– The difference is that she doesn’t do it, she just wants it for political reasons, Trump said.
