Harris vs. Trump debate! The presidential debate between the Democratic candidate, Kamala Harrisand Republican Donald Trump, will take place on Tuesday, September 10 at 9:00 p.m. at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the organizing network ABC reported on Friday.

The National Constitution Center is a private, nonprofit institution located just steps from where the U.S. Constitution was drafted and signed, which serves as the platform for promoting nonpartisan constitutional study and debate.

The pre-debate special, “Race for the White House,” will be hosted by Martha Raddatz, chief global affairs correspondent and co-anchor of “This Week,” Jonathan Karl, chief Washington correspondent and co-anchor of “This Week,” Mary Bruce, White House correspondent, and Rachel Scott, head of Congress.

The rules

The format of the face-to-face competition has not yet been revealed, but the network announced today that, in order to participate, “all participants must accept the rules” without any impediment.

In addition, “participants must achieve at least 15% support in four independent national surveys of registered voters,” ABC said.

The decision on whether the candidates meet the requirements and are therefore eligible to participate in the debate will be made after September 3, 2024.

Also, Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Walz and his Republican counterpart JD Vance will face each other in another meeting scheduled for October 1 and moderated by CBS News.
