A poll on Wednesday (14/8) found that US Vice President Kamala Harris was ahead or tied with former President Donald Trump in six of the seven key states in the 2024 US presidential election.

According to the Cook Political Report Swing State Project, Democratic presidential nominee Harris is ahead of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, North Carolina and Arizona. In Georgia, the two are tied. Trump is ahead in Nevada.

Overall, Harris has a slim 48% to 47% lead in those states compared to Trump, while five percent of respondents said they were undecided or would not vote.

In Georgia, Trump and Harris are tied at 48%, the poll found. The poll showed Harris has gained ground on Trump since the last survey was conducted in May, when President Joe Biden was widely expected to be the Democratic nominee for the Nov. 5 presidential election.

Last month, Biden announced he was dropping out of the 2024 presidential race, ending his re-election bid after a poor debate performance with Trump.

After offering his full support and endorsement for Harris to be the Democratic nominee, Biden officially launched Harris’ presidential campaign. Harris then chose Minnesota Governor Tim Walz to be her running mate in the nomination race. (Ant/Z-2)
