Harris Draws a Hard Line: A No-Nonsense Approach to Immigration Reform Emerges

The vice president also said that the primary action of her strategy to combat the drug cartels will be to interrupt the flow of fentanyl.

Kamala Harris promises to fight drug trafficking

During his tour in ArizonaKamala Harris recalled when she served as Attorney General of California and witnessed the tunnels between Mexico y EU that cartels use for drug trafficking.

“I know the importance of security, especially on our border,” he told officials from Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

The Democrat stated that her priority will be to stop fentanyl trafficking, since she has met many families who have lost loved ones to this “plague.”

To do this, he said he will seek support for border patrol agents, providing more personnel, more training and more technology, including 100 new inspection systems.

More severity against migration

In addition to stopping the flow of fentanyl, Harris said another of her priorities is establishing stricter asylum restrictions against migrants.

“Those who cross our borders illegally will be detained and expelled and will be prohibited from re-entering for five years,” he warned.
