Harris clears up the doubt and chooses Tim Walz in the vice presidential ticket

The vice president and US presidential candidate, Kamala Harris, chose the governor of Minnesota, Tim Walz, to complete the Democratic party’s formula to face the Republican, Donald Trump.

Harris interviewed several possible vice presidential candidates over the weekend, including the names of Josh Shapiro and Mark Kelly, governors of Pennsylvania and Arizona, respectively; However, Walz was chosen as the new vice presidential candidate.

“When I called Tim Walz this morning to ask him to join our campaign, I shared my deep respect for him and the work we have done together,” Harris highlighted in a message posted on her social networks.

Walz, considered the líder of the most progressive wing of the Democrats, currently chairs the Democratic Governors Association and while on Capitol Hill he made his way there by challenging his colleagues on some high-profile issues and giving a voice to the voters in the interior of the country who, according to him, were neglected even by their own party, the reviews highlight, review Latin press.

For his part, the Democratic standard-bearer for vice president said it was an “honor” to join Harris in the presidential campaign.

Kamala Harris obtained the support of 4.567 party delegates, 99% of the total, in the telematic vote to formalize her candidacy, which lasted five days, the Democratic National Committee announced this Tuesday.
