Harris challenged Trump! The Democratic candidate Kamala Harris challenged his Republican opponent Donald Trump on Saturday to a second presidential debate on CNN on October 23, just days before the US election.
“Vice President Harris is ready for another opportunity to share the stage with Donald Trump,” campaign manager Jen O’Malley Dillon said in a statement. “Trump should have no problem embracing this debate.”

So far, the former Republican president has rejected the idea of facing his rival from the November 5 election on TV again. According to the general opinion, it was she who dominated the debate on September 10, constantly irritating her opponent on a number of sensitive issues: attendance at his rallies, his relationship with his former political allies and his international reputation, among others.
This did not stop Trump from claiming that he “won” the debate and attacking the impartiality of the two ABC journalists who moderated the meeting.
“There will not be a third debate,” the Republican had said in mid-September, including in the account the televised exchange in June with President Joe Biden, then the Democratic candidate, whose catastrophic performance precipitated his resignation to make way for Harris.
With 45 days to go until the election, the outcome remains more uncertain than ever, with Trump and Harris neck and neck in several of the seven key states where everything will likely be decided.
The 78-year-old Republican will be campaigning in one of them on Saturday: North Carolina. The former president won this southeastern state in his duel with Biden in 2020.
But Harris, her new rival, 59, is counting on African-Americans and young people, two constituencies motivated by her candidacy, to win there in November.
