Football is sometimes cruel. This is undoubtedly the painful observation that the players of Ghent will make this Friday evening, those who proved unable to perforate the wall of Standard at home (0-0).
Liégeois, plucked by the absence of Laifis, Dussenne, Raskin, Amallah, Fossey ou Zinckernagel, who were, they clearly came to do the big back. Resist to snatch a point, such was the mantra of the 11 Liégeois, aligned in an onion row with the sole mission of defending.
The stats, all in favor of Ghent, are also there to testify: 21 shots to 1, 5 shots on target to nil, 13 corners to 1.
