“Behind the back of Athens, with montages and slanders, the far-right bloc of New Democracy is trying to stop electoral leaks to its right,” says Haris Doukas in a written statement.
“In a coordinated operation, a former minister, a current minister, with the undivided help of government trolls and the police union leadership, brutally falsified the truth” emphasizes Haris Doukas regarding the incident in the city council with “shots” at Nea Democracy.
“From a 9-hour meeting of the municipal council that decided and launched major projects, such as the Double Redevelopment, they cut and sewed phrases as they saw fit. They still can’t accept their electoral defeat in the Municipality of Athens, they can’t accept that Athens is moving quickly and boldly into the next day” emphasizes Haris Doukas.
And he concludes: “Our great poet Dionysios Solomos said, “National is the Truth”. As much as some people walk with lies and distortions, we will not allow the truth to be “based on”. We are not intimidated by attacks. We continue…”.
Earlier, Stefanos Kasselakis had made a post in which he supports the mayor of Athens.
Finally, the New Left, in its own announcement on the matter, states that “the vulgar attack on Haris Doukas will fall on deaf ears”.
In her statement she claims: “Since the first day of taking office, the mayor of Athens, Haris Doukas, has been targeted by the government. Last episode in this serial is the cutting edge of his placement during a city council. It seems that the editing technique is emerging as a basic tool of the overt and underground mechanisms of the Right. They are in vain.”
