Haris Doukas for debate: PASOK won

“It wasn’t right, it was indecency, I don’t want to continue,” said Haris Doukas on the ANT1 show “Morning Greece” when asked to comment on Nikos Androulakis’s disgust, when during the debate he compared him to Erdogan, in terms of the centralization of his powers.

Responding “to the essence” of the issue of the dual role of Mayor and party president, he said that, “a mayor can be president and if the people want it, prime minister, because the institution of local self-government is strengthened, it has the character of strengthening self-government” .

Asked “why should anyone vote for Duke”, he replied: “The ‘I’ is over, the ‘we’ makes the difference. We want a pasoK and it will be a Movement and its members will have a role. This is what I did in Athens, for the first time we have 26 advisors in Athens and each one has their role. This is what I want to do with PASOK as well.”

And he added that, “we forgot those who came to vote for PASOK, we must give them a reason, to feel active wherever they are in the country”.

“In Athens we succeeded and got 56% on the second Sunday and created an agenda of progress. We are making a big call to all progressives. We want a big PASOK and not PASOK butter on Mitsotakis’ bread”, he noted regarding his vision for the faction.

As for the government and its attitude, he said that, “it is a government in total that is disparaging towards the local self-government, and I am not saying that, KEDE is saying that. In order for the country to move forward, it must change the governance model and the economic model that produces super profits for the few.”

Regarding the process of electing the president of PASOK – Movement for Change, he said that, “there should have been more polls. It’s with EDEKAP, I don’t want to interfere”.

“PASOK came out victorious overall, all the lights are on us, the government is decaying, SYRIZA is tearing each other apart, PASOK is here”, he assessed yesterday’s debate between the six contenders for the leadership of PASOK and the question about the day after the election of a new president, he answered that there will be unity, without that meaning “quiet place”.

Finally, expressing his political lines, he referred to the problem of the housing solution, for which he supports the European norm of “10% of buildings being social housing”, public Education and Health, while he referred, as in his statement yesterday, to the public character that PPC must have, proposing fixed tariffs for two years.

“To be able to support energy and citizens in this way. Draghi said, the number one priority is cheap energy,” he concluded.
