Haripad: In the national sub-junior weightlifting competition held at Kuttal, Tamil Nadu, Haripad native V. Ameya is dressed in gold. A total of 475 kg was recorded in the 84 and over category.
The competition was in three categories namely squat, bench press and dead lift. Ameya, who holds a national record in the squat (200 kg) and bench press (120) categories, lifted 155 kg in the dead lift. Ameya also claimed the national record of 475 kg when the overall winner was decided. She is also third in the strong women category.
