The competent services of the Attica Region are on their feet after the confirmation of the appearance of the first case plague of sheep and goats in a livestock unit in Aspropyrgos.
The Governor of Attica, Nikos Hardalias, in his statements today, regarding the problem, said “Coordinated and methodical, in direct cooperation with the relevant ministries and our livestock farmers, the mechanism of the Attica Region is fully prepared to effectively deal with the plague of sheep and goats”
The regional governor assured that the health services of the Region had implemented all the preventive measures defined by the European protocols, “already before the appearance of the first case”. He noticed that all the specialized staff, coordinated by the competent vice-regional governors, are constantly in the field, conducting thorough checks on the livestock units of the whole of Attica.
N. Hardalias assured the citizens that every possible effort is being made “in order not to reach the consumer a product that does not fully meet all the health standards”, noting that “with the experience we have gained from managing much more complex health crises, I am optimistic that in this battle against time to stop the disease, we will succeed.”
