‘He did not abuse his relationship with Princess Diana. His friendship with Diana was very strong and from the heart, so I’m very happy to play a role that people like my work.
It is true that I have never done a real-life character before, but the characters we do are also somewhat original, like the character I did in ‘Mere Paas Tum Ho’. So there will be someone’s real life story, right? There are many innocent people like that.’
About the preparation for the role of Dr. Hasnat, he said that he watched a couple of interviews, but not necessarily as he looked or spoke.
‘Because we showed that he was very confident in his work but very shy when talking to Diana, which he might not be in his real life. But the character has been shown to be a bit shy which people liked.’
According to Humayun, when he was offered the role of Dr Hasnat, he knew that the role was very popular, very positive and he had to do it.
‘I personally loved The Crown too, I watched the first four seasons. When it was offered to me, I couldn’t believe that I would be myself in the fifth season, it was a big deal for me, I didn’t even think about doing it.
‘It’s absolutely right because the fourth season showed a 17-18-year-old Diana and now there’s a 34-35-year-old Diana.’
Humayun said that he had seen the work of Elizabeth Dubaki and liked her.
‘Yes, obviously everyone was looking at who Diana is this time, it happens, by the way, Fawad Khan was also trending because some people thought that he was playing the role of Dr. Hasnat.’
Humayun Saeed said that every society has its own styles. ‘My work with Elizabeth Dubicki was very well done, and there was no fuss, no one seemed to notice, there was nothing like that.’
On playing the role of a surgeon, he said that the difference between working in Pakistan and outside is that he works in a lot of detail and takes care of small things.
‘They were a simulated heart and veins, which were displayed but felt like they were real. I was taught in detail by two surgeons which vein to take from where, a lot of work was done on that breast.’

Asked if he aspires to work in Marvel, Humayun Saeed said that wherever good work is happening in the world, every actor wants to be a part of it.
He said that Mehwish Hayat and Fawad Khan did a great job, and it’s good that good people are working out and actors who are capable of it have gone out.
About the serial on the life of Salahuddin Ayyubi, Humayun Saeed said that the work is going on fast, the sets are very big and impressive and it will be the biggest co-production in Pakistan so far.
He said that he is planning to do a drama this year. “One play Khalilur Rahman Qamar is writing and one Umira Ahmed, which was ready first, will do it but there are more chances that Khalil Sahib has started writing so it is likely to be done.” It’s called ‘I’m not Minto’ and he might be the first one.’
