The highly anticipated “Wedding of the Year” between Anant Ambani, the youngest son of Mukesh AmbaniRadhika Merchant, attracted celebrities like Kim Kardashian, John Cena, Águeda López, and top executives including Samsung CEO, Han Jong.

Despite the star-studded event, one particular golden retriever named Happy owned by Merchant and Ambani stole the spotlight and captured the hearts of attendees and social media users.

Happy was dressed in a white and red embroidered suit and roamed around the venue, greeting anyone who came his way. One of the most shared images online featured Aadiya, daughter of Isha Ambani and Anant’s sister, happily petting the dog.

Nita Ambani, the groom’s mother, mentioned in an interview with Indian magazine The Week that her son is a dog lover and has over 5,000 dogs, but his favorite is Happy, whom he considers a cherished member of the family.

Happy played a significant role during Anant’s proposal to Merchant earlier in South Mumbai this year, serving as the ring bearer.

Throughout the wedding festivities, Happy mingled with guests and attracted attention. Among the memorable images was one featuring Happy and an influencer named Egyptian Raniaa Needs.

In the photo, one of the Ambani daughters can be seen petting Happy, who stands proudly in his white and red embroidered attire.

This is not the first instance of the Ambanis showcasing their love for animals, as they are actively involved in operating the Elephant Rescue and Rehabilitation Centre in Jamnagar.

“I believe that children learn by observing their surroundings, and since Mukesh (her husband) and I share the same values, our children have embraced them and continue to live by them, which is crucial,” Nita expressed.

According to reports such as The Economist, the wedding costs totaled approximately $600 million, a staggering amount for the average citizen but not for the family’s vast wealth.

The expenses incurred for the celebrations further highlighted the wealth disparity in the country. Vikram, a taxi driver, expressed to the news agency Associated Press (AP) that the ceremony’s traffic disruptions “impact our earnings. I’m not particularly interested in the wedding.”
