Xi’an News Network News Hanzhong transport athlete Lv Yi won the third place in the Chinese men’s eight-man boat helmsman in Belgrade, the first leg of the 2022 Rowing World Cup.
On May 29th, the first race of the 2022 Rowing World Cup ushered in the final day of the competition in Belgrade, Serbia. Hanzhong transport athlete Lv Yi participated in the men’s eight-person sculls and helmsman competition. During the game, he worked hard with his teammates to bite the Dutch team, and won the bronze medal with a time of 5:45.50, the third over the line.
Lv Yi, who was born in 1997, was selected from Chenggu County in 2010 to engage in rowing training at Hanzhong Sports School. In June 2011, he was transferred to the rowing team of the Shaanxi Provincial Water Sports Management Center. In 2021, he entered the national rowing team and began to prepare for 2022. 2020 Hangzhou Asian Games and 2024 Paris Olympics. As the opening match of the Paris Olympics cycle, this competition showed the spirit of Chinese rowers who are not afraid of strong players and move forward with courage.
Hanzhong Sports School’s aquatic project was established in 1993. It is a key development project in Hanzhong City. It has successively trained many outstanding athletes such as Huang Xiaoping, Li Xiaohua, Ou Zhiwei, and Lu Yi. On May 10, 2022, the Shaanxi Provincial Water Sports Management Center and Hanzhong Sports School signed a co-construction agreement on the rowing project. Hanzhong Sports School will take the opportunity of co-construction and signing, vigorously develop aquatic projects, actively send talents to the provincial professional team and national team, promote the city’s youth competitive sports level to a new level, and make positive contributions to building a strong sports city.
