Engineer Muhammad Hammam Abu El-Ela, one of the founders of the Hanin Initiative, confirmed to Sky News Arabia that the goal is to connect all the missing with their families, by conducting a DNA analysis for them and matching them to ensure the relationship of kinship, explaining that:
- The idea we have been working on for more than two years, but dramas such as the Jaafar Al-Omda series helped convey the feeling to the general public, and highlighted the difficulty of losing the mother and father, and it was an important motivation for us, so with people’s desire for Jaafar Al-Omda to reach his son Saif in the series, we wanted to transform these feelings From the drama behind the screen to the real world.
- We do a DNA analysis of all families who have reported missing, and we do the same analysis for those who have reported missing.
- We created a system that can compare the results of DNA analyzes of families and missing persons, and then detect that the results of a family’s analysis match those of one of the missing persons, if there is such a match, which means that the child belongs to this family.
- The success rate of the DNA analysis is 100 percent, and scientifically every person has 46 chromosomes, 23 from the father and 23 from the mother.
- If the analysis is for a person with his brother, it is assumed that all chromosomes match, that is, the match between brothers is in 46 chromosomes.
- Often, those who report missing persons are the father, mother, brother, or sister, and therefore they are related to the first degree, which plays a role in matching the “DNA” analyzes, and rarely is the one who submits the analysis request a person looking for a relationship beyond that. Like a cousin or cousin.
- We welcome everyone and do not require any age group. There is a 70-year-old woman who requested an analysis to search for her family, as well as a 51-year-old person. Any missing person can contact us, regardless of his age or social status. We welcome everyone.

- To solve the problem that some missing persons or families do not have the value of the analyzes, we allow those who want to socially contribute to the initiative to go to the laboratory where the analysis will be conducted, and pay the value of the analysis directly to the laboratory during the sample withdrawal without our intervention, so that the contributor is sure where his money went, and at the same time he is honored by the initiative And he will be present for the interview in the event of success in delivering the missing person to his family.
- We hope to reach all juvenile children and do a DNA analysis for them, so that we may be able to connect them with their families.
