Hani shaker in the crosshairs of accusations over “Caribbean nationality”

Others recalled the stories of other artists who had sought naturalization, such as actress Mona Zaki, who traveled to the United States to give birth in order for her children to gain U.S. citizenship.

In recent months, Shaker has intervened in the controversial issue of so-called “festival songs” following he banned 19 singers on the grounds that their songs did not fit with Egyptian values.
