Han Dong-hoon visits Sindang Station for ‘Stalking victim murdered’

On the 15th, Justice Minister Han Dong-hoon visited Sindang Station, the site of the murder of a woman who had been victimized by stalking.

According to the Ministry of Justice, Minister Han visited Sindang Station on Line 2 of the Seoul Subway, where the incident occurred around 7 pm following finishing his work that day. Minister Han said that he visited the site alone without an attendant.

Minister Han told reporters at the scene, “As the Minister of Justice, I feel a deep sense of responsibility for the state’s failure to protect the victims.”

The Ministry of Justice has previously announced a legislative notice of some amendments to the ‘Electronic Device Attachment Act,’ which requires criminals sentenced to prison for stalking to attach electronic location tracking devices (electronic anklets) for up to 10 years.

Jeon (31) was arrested and questioned for allegedly causing death by wielding a weapon at a female station worker B (28) in a bathroom inside Sindang Station around 9 pm the previous day. Jeon was investigated and tried on charges of stalking her B and her motive for joining the Seoul Transportation Corporation.
