Hampus Plato’s move to Karlskoga was already successful in the first season. Where the forward was also chased by SHL clubs – but chose to stay for one more season.
– A good role in Karlskoga is not something to throw under the chair – I felt that I really wanted to stay here, the 22-year-old tells Hockeysverige.se.

Last season, Karlskoga was a crisis team during the autumn, where the losses in the beginning lined up. This fall, the tones are completely different. After two rounds, they have five points and most recently come from a penalty win at Hovet against top-seeded Djurgården.
Where the Varmlanders have also had to keep large parts of last year’s team, which really showed class ahead of the spring.
One of the players who chose to stay was Hampus Plato, who attracted interest from bigger clubs after 34 points in 49 games in the previous season. But the 22-year-old chose to turn down the SHL interest to stay one more season in Karlskoga.
– I felt that I am not interested. I have played 60 games in the SHL and when I take the step I want to give it a real chance and feel that I am ready. If there had been a club that had offered me what I want, I would have taken it, says Plato.
