Hamlet: The masterpiece of Shakespeare and the world theater on Monday August 5 in Agios
 – 2024-08-04 11:02:06

The tragedy of Hamlet, prince of Denmark, takes place in a stage space – theater machine designed by Mikaela Liakata, where all the technological means of the show are integrated (lighting sources, projection machines, effects, sound sources).

The show will be presented in Aigios, specifically at the “Georgios Pappas” outdoor theater, on Monday, August 5 at 9:30 p.m.

Shakespeare’s and world theater’s masterpiece is revealed to be dark and unbearably timely, with Patricia Apergi’s kinetic treatment highlighting well-hidden secrets of the human condition, Royal Wire’s theatrical costumes abolishing time, in a unique atmosphere that completes the heartbreaking music of Stavros Gasparatos, the sharp lighting of Nikos Sotiropoulos and the inventive video-art of Thomas Palyvos.

A troupe of excellent actors, led by Anastasius Rouillot in the role of Hamlet, interprets the incurably time-repeated characters of Shakespeare’s heroes. A show that aspires to be inscribed in the viewer’s memory.

“No use of the world is good.” Hamlet ponders. The refusal to act reflects the conception of the image of a world where, no matter how much it changes, the ruins stand there – unchanged. Decomposition. The wear and tear, the corruption, the decay, the deadly repetition. Hamlet ponders. Not so much living but how you can live a life worth living. Political and ontological request. Hamlet reflects on time and the world. And he sees the whole picture: No use of the world is good. Time disintegrates. Hamlet paints the human. traces the contrasts: Depth and surface, Being and appearance, resistance and submission, honesty and hypocrisy, words and silence, concealment and revelation, representation and unspokenness, The limits of language and the world and vice versa. Hamlet wishes for a new world free of guilt to be built on the ruins of the old.
