The Pistons will ( once more) have to make choices this week with no less than five contracts with a “Team option” for 2022-2023 on which it will be necessary to decide: Luka Garza, Frank Jackson, Hamidou Diallo, Carsen Edwards and Saben Lee.
The first information would lean in favor of an extension of the lease of Hamidou Diallo, whose contract year amounts to 5.2 million dollars. The places remaining very expensive on the back posts with in addition the arrival of Jaden Ivey, not everyone can be kept.
Thus Frank Jackson and his “Team option” at 3.1 million dollars should not be extended. It remains to be seen what will happen to the Garza-Edwards-Lee trio, less “priority” contracts insofar as none of these three extensions will exceed 1.9 million dollars.
The Pistons have until tomorrow to make their choice (Wednesday for Saben Lee and Carsen Edwards).
Sources: The Pistons are likely to pick up Hamidou Diallo’s $5.2 million team option.
Additionally, sources tell me and @WillGuillory that the Pistons are unlikely to pick up Frank Jackson’s $3.1 million team option.
The club has until Tuesday to make official decisions.
