Hamdan Sports Complex has become the focal point of international competitions in Dubai. The proof of this is that the flow of sports players and competitions here is increasing significantly with each passing year. Recently, the complex has hosted 28 Olympic and non-Olympic sports events. Apart from this, many community sports competitions were also held here.

Many athletes who are to participate in next year’s Paris Olympics are coming for training at Hamdan Sports Complex. The international quality facilities available here attract the stars. Athletes who won three gold and five silver medals in the Olympics trained here. Olympic champions like South African swimmer Chadli, Japan’s women’s swimmer Ray Kanto, Denmark’s women’s badminton champion Viktor Akelsson compete here.

France’s Gary Hunt, Russia’s Anastasia Akhipovskaya, who won a medal in the World Championship, have also performed at the Hamdan Sports Complex. By the end of this year, the complex will host at least 45 regional and international competitions. It accounts for 10 percent of major sporting events held in Dubai. Ahead of the Olympics, many clubs and sports authorities have approached the authorities expressing their interest in training.

It is estimated that thousands of athletes from different countries have come here in the past years. 28 major sporting events were held in the first quarter of this year alone. Swimming, Water Polo, Diving, Underwater Hockey, Underwater Rugby, Fencing, Gymnastics, Karting, Cycling, Running, Badminton, Duathlon, Aquathlon, Triathlon, Basketball, Volleyball, During this period, competitions like wrestling, karate, modern pentathlon, taekwondo, tennis, boxing, weightlifting and table tennis were held here.
