Hamas leaders preach Jewish extermination

“O Allah, annihilate the Jews. Paralyze them, destroy their entity. Oh, Allah, allow us to reach the necks of the Jews,” cries Hamad al-Regeb, official sheik of Hamas. And he’s not the only one. For years, the leaders and top authorities of the Hamas terrorist group have been responsible for preaching Jewish extermination to all its members and followers, as evidenced in a video shared by the Israel Defense Forces.

“The day of their slaughter, extermination and annihilation is approaching,” shouted Fathi Hamad, former Gaza interior minister. And the violence of his words is repeated over and over once more in declarations of hate:

“Until there is no Jew or Zionist on the face of the Earth.”

“O Allah, destroy the Jews and those who support them. Oh Allah, destroy the Americans and those who support them. O Allah, count them one by one, kill them all, leaving none.”

“The time will come when your property is destroyed and your children annihilated.”

This last sentence is especially chilling today, when an i24 News journalist reported that an IDF commander told her that they had found the bodies of murdered babies.

Social media platform

X said it is treating the crisis with its highest level of response.

But outside watchdog groups say misinformation regarding the war is rife on the platform that billionaire Elon Musk bought last year. Musk himself has recommended that unreliable accounts publish regarding the war. And his job cuts since he took over Twitter last year have left fewer people responsible for taking action on posts that violate the platform’s policies.

That includes continuing a policy often championed by Musk of allowing users to help qualify what might be misinformation, causing those posts to include a note of context but not disappear from the platform.

The struggle to identify reliable sources of news regarding the war was exacerbated over the weekend by Musk, who on Sunday published the names of two accounts that he said were “good” for “following the war in real time.” Analyst Emerson Brooking of the Atlantic Council called one of those accounts “absolutely poisonous.” Journalists and X users also noted that both accounts had previously shared a fake AI-generated image of an explosion at the Pentagon, and that one of them had posted numerous anti-Semitic comments in recent months. Musk later deleted his post.
